X Caps

Rickie Fowler has reached his 10th year with PUMA Golf and I've had the pleasure of creating designs with him in mind as well as creating original designs that he has sported on the course! These caps are a thank you and a congratulations to 10 years! 

Silhouette 01110 Snapback Cap

Key Points:

• Monoline Vs. P Cap - During Rickie's career with PUMA he's made the Monoline cap and P cap statement pieces. They're both hats that made and continue to turn heads. It only made sense to take things full circle starting with the iconic Monoline cap all the way to the memorable P cap with a little Rickie flare to celebrate his time.   

• Gold Thread - Rickie's at the age now where premium golf wear is a priority. It's the time to rock cool gear with tasteful flare and the gold metallic thread helps do just that in these caps. 

• Internal X Year Seam tape - The internal seam tape reads "2009 - 2019" to call out Rickie's time with PUMA Golf so far. The execution of the print is gold foiling. 

City Cap Series

These three caps are a blast back to the 90s and worn by Rickie Fowler during the FedEx Cup Tournament. I designed each cap with the old school Mitchell & Ness sport caps that were created for the basketball teams. Being from Jersey, I was able to bring an East Coast vibe to each cap.

Key Points:

• "PUMA Golf" Jersey/Chicago/Atlanta - Each cap has a custom script font created in order to emulate a similar vibe to the old school sport caps.  

• Kelly Green Under Visor - All old school caps were designed with the iconic Kelly Green under visor and it was important to keep this article as it brings consumers a sense of nostalgia.

• Internal "City Series" Seam tape - I've created a reputation of special internal features on PUMA Golf Limited Edition caps and the City Series internal seam tape is no exception. The font was an intentional take on a retro font style to stick to the nostalgia feel these caps aim to convey.

2019 Patriot Pack

The Patriot Pack was a capsule created for the U.S. Open tournament geared towards the true patriotic citizen.

Key Points:

• American Flag "P" - The "P" logo is made of a 3d embroidered poly thread with an American flag design built in.  

• Stars (Under Visor)/Stripes (Buck-rum - The stars on the under visor lead into the stripes on the buck rum of the cap as yet, another way to add an American flag at every angle of the cap. 

• Internal Seam tape  - The seam tape holds a screen printed "Stars, stripes & Golf" slogan as a way to represent the patriotism in the game of golf.

2019 Arnold Palmer Invitational

One of the most important tournaments of the year is the Arnold Palmer Invitational where the great, Arnold Palmer,  is honored and now remembered by different brands - PUMA Golf being one of them.

Key Points:

• AP Umbrella - The umbrella logo is a staple to the Arnold Palmer brand. This has been seen on the lemonade as well as other products. As this is a collaboration I wanted to keep our branding front and center but also show the PUMA brand uniting with Arnold Palmer and his legacy. 

• AP Signature - Arnold Palmer's signature is clean and identifiable to anyone who follows his life story. I placed this as a heat transfer on the under visor that serves as a hidden discoverable and also allows the consumer to walk away with a little piece of Arnold Palmer. 

• Umbrella Seam tape - Some brands have one specific piece that lets consumers know "this is a real article". I wanted to implement the same technique on the API caps. Because the umbrella is such an icon, I wanted to place it on the internal details as well. The screen printed dancing umbrellas will be a constant on all AP caps from here on out which will tell consumers this is a legit PUMA/Arnold Palmer collaboration piece.  

2019 St. Paddys Day Caps

The Waste Management tournament takes place in Phoenix, Arizona and is known as "the greenest show on grass". This tournament is all about green and yellow and is the most rowdy golf tournament of the year.

Key Points:

• Gold Embroidered P - Part of the St. Paddy's Day story is the pot of gold that a leprechaun searches for at the end of a rainbow. The P is our iconic logo for headwear and I wanted to make this stand out with the metallic gold thread. 

• 4 Leaf Clover - In addition to the pot of gold story is the four leaf clover. Just like the little leprechaun that looks for the pot of gold, I used to look for four leaf clovers during St. Paddy's day in hopes of finding a little bit of luck. This story resonated with others as well and as the clover is a universal symbol for luck I needed to implement that as an embroidered tonal hit behind the P as well as the under visor. 

• Green Snapback Closure - Everyone knows you MUST wear green on St. Paddy's Day and if you don't you can't be surprised if you get pinched! I specifically wanted to make just the snapback closure green for the guy who isn't into much color, but can still wear this hat out to the festivities.

Key Points:

• Repeating Recycled Logo - WM is known for it's story about recycling and "thinking green" for the sake of our planet. The recycled logo is universal symbol. Although the tournament is crazy, I wanted to make sure to cater towards the golf audience as well as staying true to the Waste Management brand by keeping the color way green and yellow and adding a small hidden discoverable on the undervisor. 

Silhouette 02 - Patch Snapback Cap

Key Points:

• Patches - The patches for the patch cap revolve around the Waste Management story as well. Other stories that revolve around this tournament is the 16th hole. This part of the tournament is the loudest and most exciting for fans, which is why I made it a point to create a cactus patch in the shape of the 16 with PUMA cat branding.

• Material - A recycled poly jersey fabric is used to create this cap in order to reinforce the general story of Waste Management. It's breathable and sustainable and a huge initiative to follow for the coming years.
